Education can help us win the war against HIV/AIDS
Our motivation
for S.A.F.E. is to help keep Swazi orphans and vulnerable children in school.
We believe education is one of the answers to the HIV/AIDS crisis in
Swaziland. Research by the UN has indicated 70 percent of Swazi girls who are not in school
are sexually active, compared to 30 percent of Swazi girls in school who are
sexually active.
In response to
this crisis, S.A.F.E. is currently sponsoring 22 orphans and vulnerable
children in Swaziland by providing school fees and, in some cases, uniforms.
Most of these students are young girls who have no one else to pay the fees
to keep them in school. Some of them have traumatic histories of abuse and
neglect. They are all survivors. Your support has made these sponsorships
possible!
